The Best Laid Plans...

Sometimes things just don't go to plan.

Today I was supposed to go for a 25 minute swim.  It's been a week since I've been in the water, and I was really looking forward to it.  Swimming has really grown on me (something I didn't really think would happen; then again, I didn't think running would, either...), but I'm still getting a feel for it, so time in the water is invaluable to me at this point.

But the weather seemed to have other plans.

As you know, some serious storms ripped through the area this afternoon.  I don't want to get all sappy on you, but my thoughts are absolutely with all the families affected by the storms.  I can't imagine what they must be going through.

On a lighter note, we have our first road race of the year tomorrow morning -- the Anthem 5K!  Which means today was packet pickup at Louisville Slugger Field.  Here's a couple pics of the expo:

Inside the stadium there used to be a brewery called Brownings that was pretty good, but it looks like they've closed.  Now, there's another brewery there that goes by the name of Against the Grain, so we'll definitely have to check them out at some point in the near future.

I love their setup -- such an efficient use of space and gravity!

I literally ran into the expo, grabbed my packet, and ran back out.  The storms were heading directly toward us, and it was freaking me out.  It all just felt so ominous.

Here's a shot of the field looking out to the northeast (where some tornadoes were).

The clouds were moving so fast!

Here's a pic from my sis; she's a little bit southeast of us.  Look at all that hail she got, while we didn't get any.

Alright, time to go rest up!  Hopefully I'll have some great pictures and results to share from tomorrow!  G'Night everybody!
