Our Little Boy is THREE MONTHS OLD!

So yeah, first up -- I'm sorry I missed our two month update!

Things are just happening so fast; I just dropped the ball on that one.

BUT, here's a very thorough three month update for ya!

2 Months:

Weight: 13 lbs, 1 oz (up about 3 lbs from 1 month)
Length: 23.5 inches (up an inch from 1 month)

3 Months:

Weight: 14 lbs, 8 oz -- he has officially DOUBLED his birth weight! Woo hoo!
Length: not sure -- we haven't gotten that recently

What's new this past month these past two months...

We've been settling into our new routine pretty well, I'd say. Of course we've had some stressful moments here and there, and we're still getting to know each other, but things have been going really well so far.

He's still such a good eater! He's moved up to taking 5 and 6 oz bottles every 3 hours or so (sometimes he only makes it 2 or 2.5 hours, though!).

We upped how much he was taking at each feeding to help him sleep through the night.

Yep, you read that right -- he's SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!!

And we're not talking just 6 hours here -- our little guy is going 10 to 12 hours EACH NIGHT!

Yep, TOOOTALLY bragging!

Lately I've been giving him his bath around 7:20 or 7:30 -- which he LOVES. Proof:

He usually plays in there for 30 minutes or so.

After his bath he gets his last bottle for the day and usually passes out on me somewhere around 8:30 or 9:00pm, and we HAVE TO WAKE HIM UP at 8:00am the next morning!

We're still trying to work out our daytime nap schedule, but I never imagined he'd be sleeping so well at night before he was even 3 months old.

And he wakes up in the BEST mood!

Smiling and Laughing

At the two month mark, we were just starting to get some smiles. Usually, we'd find something that would make him smile and do it like a MILLION times trying to keep him smiling as long as possible.

Actually, we still do that.

For instance, he loved the "ba ba ba" game:

He's no so big into that anymore, but it's been getting easier and easier to get him to smile. And you can tell he's working so hard to try to talk to us.

Oh, and just yesterday we caught this gem -- apparently he thinks us slapping his hand is hilarious! (Wait for it, it takes him a minute to get going.)

Even the other day after he was so upset in the car, he started smiling again as soon as he saw mama:

Other fun things

He has officially spectated his first race!

But he was not at ALL impressed with my finishing time.

He's helped his papa brew some beer!

But again, he wasn't exactly into it...

He has recently discovered his thumb (although he still has trouble finding it sometimes):

Last week I noticed he was turning himself around at night. Of course, Jennifer didn't believe it (since he wasn't doing anything like that during the day, and since I'm the one putting him down we both thought it was much more likely that I was just forgetting how I put him down).

But then a few days ago he revealed his secret while playing on his playmat.

Here's how he started:

And by lifting his legs and throwing them over to the side, he eventually managed to turn himself completely around!

Silly boy.

So yeah, things are going really well over here. He's advancing much faster than I expected, and I'm sure he'd already be doing so much more if he physically could (he's already pushing off of us like he wants to get down and walk somewhere).

I know it won't be long before I'll be posting videos of him on the move -- crawling around everywhere.

Ugh, I'm not ready!!

(Okay, maybe I am a little bit :) )

  1. This post gave me such rage...the kind of rage you get when you haven't sleep more than 4 hours since January. RAGE.

But yeah, your baby is cute. Yadda yadda he sleeps ALL NIGHT yadda yadda.
