The Big ONE!!

Yep, it's official. Our little boy isn't so little anymore...

OMG, where has the time gone???

It seems impossible that it was a year ago that we welcomed our sweet little boy into the world.

It's also impossible to believe he was ever THAT TINY!

Looking back over this past year

Soooo many things have happened this past year -- it's almost hard to believe sometimes!

Honestly, I'm still kind of in disbelief that we were able to have a baby and were able to experience these things. Baby G really has brought something to our lives that we didn't even know we were missing before, and now we couldn't imagine being without.

And not only were we blessed with a baby, we were given the best baby anyone could ask for. He's never fussy, always laid-back, and sleeps and eats really well!

I think he gets all that from me. :)

I think the hardest times I've had this past year have been when I expect him to need one thing, when he really needs something else. I know that's all part of the process of becoming a parent, and just as soon as you think you've figured things out, they'll change. I'd like to say I'm better prepared for changes, but I know I'm not. Partly because once you figure out the routine and it works, it's the best thing in the world (so when things start to get off track, it can be somewhat stressful). But also because changes mean our little boy is changing into a bigger boy, and I still want to hold onto that little boy for a while longer.

Over the last few weeks I've noticed so many more changes, so I know the rate at which things are changing is only speeding up.

He's developing such a personality, and it's pretty much the cutest thing I've ever seen.

Walking

Although he still hasn't officially started walking yet like I thought he would, he's getting VERY close. Just the other night, he was taking a couple steps back and forth between Jennifer and me. We tried to catch it on video, but he cracked under the pressure.

(Literally, as soon as the camera was pointed at the floor, he did it again! It's like he knew!)

Teething

He's been teething pretty bad these last couple of weeks. It's been making him kind of a cranky pants, and he only has 6 little teeth to show for it!

In a way I'm glad he didn't start teething until a little later, because I really liked his cute little gummy smile. But now that he has teeth, his smile is still pretty cute...

Eating

Yeah, still no problems in this department, except maybe that he keeps eating even when we have somewhere to be!

He is literally eating EVERYTHING except for dairy and meat, and his Poppy couldn't be happier:

That whole plate was JUST FOR GRAYSON, and yes, he ate it all, plus more!

It's been an exciting year, and the party we had over the weekend was the perfect celebration of it.

Jennifer did such a good job planning everything -- we were so excited with how it all came together!

And a big THANK YOU to our good friend Laura for capturing it all for us. I'm sure you've seen me talk about her before, but if not, you should go check out her blog and her FaceBook page.

Here are some of my favorites:

During the little photo shoot we had before the party started, this happened:

LOOK AT HIS HANDS IN HIS POCKETS!!

I die.

Seriously, he's such a mini-me, it's scary!

He LOVED his cake, and like any normal person, he had trouble stopping (which hurt his belly, I think):

Seriously, he was crying but kept shoving more into his mouth.

As sad as I am that it's over, it's been such a fun year, and I know it's only going to get better from here.

Thanks for coming along on this journey with us!
